Subway Ride Matters

These days the cold weather is taking over my life. I feel like I can't dress or express myself as I would want me to since it is too cold and I'd rather stay warm. I kinda give my look a slack, which is wrong, but what can I do? Unfortunately, I can't buy a fully well-equipped wardrobe at the moment.
It takes me back to a serious argument I had with a friend of mine a couple of weeks ago. It was about fur. I love fur, it is actually pretty new because I didn't really like it before. The thing that changed my mind was Paris. I visited there 2 years ago in the winter, and it was very cold, so everybody wore fur. It was stunning, I actually found an awesome coat in a thrift store but I thought to myself it would be pathetic to go around with a fur coat in Israel. Now, that I live in NYC, it feels like it was a huge mistake, but who knew, right?
During the day I see a lot of people in fur here, it is so tense that I started playing a game with myself on the subway. Spot the not, which is real, and which is faux. I'm pretty good at it to be honest.
That brings me to my other point, fur or faux fur? I must say, you can absolutely see the difference most of the time. In general, in life, I don't like fake stuff, at all. In every aspect. So it might as well be the same when we are talking about clothes, I would never buy a fake brand, nevertheless fake fur. Even though I would never buy new fur since I feel like it's too much, I would buy a cheap second hand mink coat for example. Why cant I use someone else's disposals?
Just for the experiment I went online and searched for faux fur coats, the results were amazing! You literally can't tell the difference. The bummer thing is that most of the good products I found were big brands like Marni or Dolce & Gabbana.
Another point I'd like to make is that many of the brands use goat fur for leopard print fur coats for instance, which makes it most reasonable in a way. I wont lie, truth is that it's not okay to kill animals to make a coat, definitely not. However, this whole saga is long gone and it became more and more in the awareness of people. That is why most of the people wear faux fur, which is awesome for that matter.
Though, buying used and old real fur is not a crime in my opinion, since this is not a pro active for making fur and support it. It is using what is left from others, and thrift stores is always good. There is no doubt about one thing for sure - it is very convenient for winter time.
