Summer Mood In The City

The beautiful thing in fashion is the ability to mix and match between brands. Fashion is not about how many high end brands one owns, it is about the ability to create something beautiful and inspiring from what one have.
I love Brands, and no matter what, most of the time I will appreciate it better than fast fashion items or what not. However, when I see something beautiful and happen to find out it is actually from tj max for example this is when my mind is really blown away.
Fashion in everything.
Inspiration comes from everywhere.

#9 - Formats of PR

Once upon a time we could see fashion mainly in magazines. That was our interaction with trends, style, and anything fashion related. As time shifted towards a Hi-tech and technological world we began to see these elements of fashion basically everywhere. Magazines, advertisements, television, Internet, our mobile devices and more.
One of the biggest tools in creating hype among people regarding a brand is the winning, well known social media platform which allows anyone who uses it (which is pretty much everyone) to be exposed to whatever those accounts post. Whether it’s an account for a brand or for a designer, it is free to use and we can instantly be exposed to many types of visuals, including look-books, ads, and celebrities who wore a certain item from the brand's collection.

Just like I mentioned in my older post about the use of digital media through the brand’s websites, same occurs here. I honestly think that there isn’t even one brand that respects itself that doesn't own an account on Instagram and Facebook, for example.
Instagram is one of the strongest tools for creating a hype nowadays and as a PR intern I know by fact that it plays a big roll. They gain hundreds of thousands of followers, mentioning the brand through hashtags, and more.
Social media is the strongest and most efficient way to create a buzz and to gain recognition among the public environment of these app users .
It is not about the fashion industry anymore where you need to buy a Vogue magazine to look at some fashion, not at all.
Now you just type in the name of the brand in the search bar on Instagram and you are exposed to a lot of information!

Spring Mood

Although spring is lingering and has not arrived yet here in New York City,  my mind is already set on the season which I love the most. Spring officially started two days ago, but it doesn't seems to have any sort of an impact on the streets which are still filled with coats, beanies and boots.

However, I most definitely wont let it bring me down! and my wishlist for the upcoming spring is being established fast! here is a mood board of my top picks for spring of 2015. As usual natural colors will dominate  my wardrobe with sneakers and lace bralettes.
three items out of seven are checked off the list! 4 more to go!

May we all have a pleasant and sunny week! Cheers!

#8 - Digital Lookbooks in The Fashion Industry

LookBooks are tools that every brand who respects itself should own. Nowadays, there isn’t even one brand that doesn't offer an online store on their website. That being said, a LookBook is important for the brand due to the fact that it is a helpful source for the consumer, buyer, or people interested in shopping with the brand, to see the style and also the looks they are trying to sell. It is more than showing line sheets filled with items that are being made by the designer. It is about selling the vibe that the company is trying to achieve with the right styling, make up, hair and accessories.

After a quick research my statement is standing still; in every website I went into, I found a digital lookbook which presented the collection with total looks and a certain atmosphere.
Also, it is crucial to add, actual paper lookbooks aren't gone from this world, they can be found mainly in the showrooms and in stores but with the growing fast past of technology it is a must have tool for every brand, owning a digital lookbook.

Here are some examples for lookbooks:

#7 - Trunk Shows

Why are trunk shows so important and what makes them completely different than fashion shows?
Basically trunk shows diverse from catwalks in a way that they take place most of the time in boutiques, or any kind of store; people, from customers to retailers to wholesalers, are invited to check out the collection. The collection is being presented as a fashion event with some food, drinks and a small amount of models; unlike a fashion show where there is a runway and everyone is sitting around to admire the collection from afar. In a trunk show the guests can see the collection as well as touch the garments and feel the materials.
Trunk shows are very important because they help designers, especially new ones to  present their collections, initiate themselves in the industry; by creating connections, establishing their name, and by gaining exposure and more sales volume.

A good Example for a successful trunk show took place in 2010 by Vera Wang at Erin Cole Couture Bridal in Los Angeles California. In the event Vera Wang presented her bridal line after she decided she wanted to enter the bridal industry. A year later,in 2011 Vera Wang launched her collection in full capacity at David's Bridal.

Here is a video from the trunk show Vera Wang did a year before her official launch at Erin Cole.

#6 - Catwalks

Dolce and Gabbana runway show took place in Milan fashion week, of course, just a couple of days ago presenting their fall 2015 ready to wear collection. Something exquisite happened there! Besides the fact that Dolce and Gabbana are very luxurious and colorful with many textures and old fashioned color combinations; that mostly represent stories from Italian family scene, picnics on terraces and more. Also, as many blogs have determined, such as fashionista, they had the best ad of this season by far by showing some Spanish motifs and expressing a complete feel of the scene.
They are family oriented and always like to tell a story behind there collections, this time it was the mama! They surprised everybody with a tribute for mothers and had models walking the runway holding babies or the hands of little girls! Even pregnant models could be found on the catwalk! I thought it was fantastic, unique and as a matter of fact, terribly sexy. A pregnant woman is something beautiful, and most people will agree that women just look so much more feminine holding a baby. This show was amazing, it was cute, fun, exciting and inspiring. I mean, what would we do without our mamas? cool tribute, interesting concept and I hope to see many more of those creative ideas.
