Mortgage for Second Hand Items

Let's talk about furniture for a second - I would like to make a statement.

Here, in Israel, if you want to buy second hand accessories for your house you have to pay a lot of money, my question is WHY? Why would I pay so much money on a used couch, when I can buy something new, cheaper and in installments in a Swedish store we all know about?

I understand that the concept of vintage-second-hand-era is really going on these days. You can see that in clothing, interior design, styling, everything involve that sense of old & past retro feeling but it doesn't mean you need to take mortgage to buy an old simple dining room chair - it has become so ridiculously expensive.

I was walking with my friend at Old Jaffa City the other day and I was amazed to see how many old vintage style furniture you can find there - problem is it's way too expensive.

While last summer I remember being in New York, and I visited few thrift shops in Brooklyn. There, you could truly see why it's called 'Thrift' or 'Second Hand Garages'. Not mention Berlin, where you find so many of these stores and fees are truly a steal!
Everything is so affordable! It's brilliant - people who can't afford home styling shopping can Actually buy something used in a reasonable price and allow themselves something so basic like sit in a reasonable couch and watch TV .

I guess it makes logically sense right? - used items should be cheaper than new ones, am I missing something here? So why on earth in Tel Aviv you have to be rich to buy old used ugly table? Or half torn sofa?

I'm not even talking about 1960's kind of furniture, but come on - this really made me mad and I felt I should share my feeling about it with you.
Second hand items should be affordable to all! - like duh?!
