Jane Birkin

Well, I was thinking about more ways to keep my blog dynamic and active with much interest in it and as I was browsing the net as always I have decided to dedicate a post once a month for Style Icons, all times no rules-everything works.
few days ago a friend of mine showed me a picture of the stunning Jane Birkin and I immediately was charmed by her.
this is exactly the style I just adore- simple, classicy not trying too hard and yet fabulous!
therefore my first Style Icon will be Jane Birkin
14 December 1946 - England/Paris.

Let's talk about having an Hermes bag named after you-It was in the early eighties that Jane was seated next to Jean-Louis Dumas, chief executive of Hermes, on an international flight. The contents of her signature straw basket spilled from the overhead compartment, and she complained that she couldn't find a travel bag that she actually liked. The funny thing is, a few years later, Jean-Louis had designed one in her honour. The Birkin bag is still one of the most coveted luxury handbags today, proving it's everlasting effect and elegancy, same as Jane's own sense of style.

Jane Birkin the long-legged, long-time lover to the late Serge Gainsbourg, has become just as famous for her fashion sense as for her acting and music. Relocating from London to Paris in the sixties, Jane's sense of style embodies a laid-back bohemia that just feels so French. Her way of dressing was never too much or overdone and with a face like that, no wonder. Whatever she wore no matter what it was, Jane managed to make everything look perfectly appropriate and just right.

  1. Great content, I enjoyed reading it. :) I knew her by name, but never really knew who she was, looks like she had a great sense of style.
