Is
someone not familiar with the TV series'Girls'? You should start watching it.
The series is about a group of hipster girls moving to New York city by themselves and it actually describes their life - finding a job, dating, social life and basically everything that happens to them.
The series is presented in a humorous and fun way with very special and different characters.
Each and every one represents a different kind of society we live in, with a different way of thinking while presented in a hype way.
Girls is so brilliant because of the fact it is so close to real life.
The Leading character (Hannah, played by Lena Dunham) who also directed the series didn't try to make things look pretty or nice, she tried to show us REAL LIFE what is really happening and she defiantly succeeded making it feel authentic.
For example, the fact that sex doesn't show always as pretty/sexy/nice as you see in movies. Sometimes it's pretty nasty or inconvenient and not in the right time or place.
Or food, the fact that Hannah eats a lot and she's chubby, while not giving a shit about it. She has confidence and you could see she's not thinking about it at all - unlike other TV shows where you could see the girls eat so much but somehow remain skinny and fit.
Same with relationships - In season one Hannah was into Adam who played hard to get and didn't want to label their relationship and you couldn't really call him her boyfriend, while in season two you can see how the table turned and when Adam start feeling something for Hannah she doesn't want him anymore. Game is over so it's not exciting to her anymore This couldn't get more real.
The thing is that all the everything that happens in this show is very similar to what would happen in your life, or mine. It's very real, honest and authentic.
