As part of my new transition of living in Brooklyn, there are several things I absolutely love about this place, one of them would be the Brooklyn rooftops.
In a way I feel like there is something more unique about living in Brooklyn instead of in Manhattan, you see, in the city itself there is a lot going on, all the time, constantly. Pressure, people, noise, stress - this is the general vibe I get when I go to school for example. I love the city, for that matter, but in my own terms.
There is something special about walking on Kent St. in Williamsburg, or watching the city from all kinds of rooftop scattered all over Williamsburg and Greenpoint. It almost feels like you are part of the city, but you can also be an outsider. This feeling is making me feel big - which is funny since you would imagine I would feel like that walking down the city of Manhattan or doing something extremely yankee. Well, that too. However, the thing I love the most, no doubt about it, is watching the city from the outside, you can feel how big it is, and in a way it is so quiet.
You see the city and you know that this is it. This is the big deal, with millions of people who came here just like you, to follow their dreams and make something special out of their lives. This place is constantly moving, it doesn't stop for a second. Even though the major feeling about Williamsburg is that it became more and more populated and crazy - it's still a better place for me to call home.
Last week my best friend came to visit me during my spring break, I took him to my friend's amazing rooftop in Greenpoint.
This is it. Monking. Living under vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. Just like most of the people in their 20's in Brooklyn I assume (;
