The Eye Has to Travel

After starting school as planned at FIT last week, I was exposed to an intense environment of tasks and assignments. I definitely need to get used to the studential atmosphere. Though I have many interesting courses it comes with a lot of homework, projects, papers to hand in and more. A reminder: Last time I attended school was 6 years ago. After serving at the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) for two years, and traveling all over, it was absolutely time for me to start the process of getting my liberal arts B.A - major in fashion merchandising management.
It was Monday morning, 9:00AM, the first class of the semester. I was so happy and grateful for making this choice of moving here to the capital of the fashion industry.
One of the things we talked about in class was fashion documentaries that we should see, one of the movies that came up was Bill Cunnningham, which I wrote a post about several weeks ago, I was so excited since I love those kind of movies - he suggested for us to watch Diana Vreeland - The Eye Has to Travel. The same night after getting home at 9:00PM and starting my homework, which I had a lot of, I finally decided that it's enough - at approximately 1:00AM. That is when I went on Netflix to see if any of the documentaries were there. Luckily, I found Diana Vreeland. It was wonderful, I learned many additional information regarding the fashion world, especially from the time when Coco Chanel was alive, and Studio 54 was the hype place to be at.

I suggest you all to watch it, it was a thrilling great movie about an amazing character which I never heard of before (not proud about it!).
Vreeland was Vogue's editor in chief between 1962-1971; in 1971 she was fired from Vogue and became a consultant at the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. By 1984, according to Vreeland's account, she had organized twelve amazing exhibitions. I am so fortunate to say that I visited 3 of them, it was insane and I can't wait for the next exhibition to come up.

Oh New York, even though you are a total bitch sometimes. I love you.
